A strategic approach to poverty reduction is to invest in the community
care and education of children in especially difficult circumstances
(CEDC), thereby enhancing their capacity for future economic
opportunities. Thus, the promotion of the holistic development of the
most vulnerable children living in impoverished communities constitutes
the core area of intervention to accelerate poverty reduction.
The less fortunate children Organization undertakes an outreach
programme to identify and mobilize children in especially difficult
circumstances (CEDC) for the protection and assistance. Child victim of
natural and man-made disaster, domestic, physical and social violence,
exploitation and force labour and recruitment into military and para-
military outfits, to this end a children rescue center be established to
reach the out-Of-School children in especially difficult circumstances
(CEDC) with basic literacy and numeracy skills, apprenticeship and
vocational training for skill development as an alternative and innovative
approach to providing access to quality education for the children who
cannot attend the formal school system owing to the incidence of
extreme poverty. A particular emphasis is on girls education for
empowerment.
